Inspiration

Luke has always been fascinated by the way we connect and how those connections shape our lives. His work focuses on understanding how attachment issues, trauma, and struggles with addiction affect relationships and personal well-being. He’s also deeply interested in how sexually restrictive social norms influence how people experience and express their emotions. Luke became a psychotherapist to support individuals and couples as they work through these challenges, helping them heal, grow, and build healthier relationships.

Education

Luke completed a Bachelor of Science degree from MacEwan University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. He has also completed additional training in Gottman Couples Counselling level 1 and 2, integrative Sex and Couples training, Sex Work Bias Prevention, and Addiction Counselling. Luke is currently completing training to become a Certified Sex Therapist.

I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, where you are empowered to explore your own insights and take an active role in the healing process.

Philosophy

Luke believes that effective therapy is built on a foundation of collaboration, respect, and self-reflection. He views the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, where you are empowered to explore your own insights and take an active role in the healing process. Luke will work alongside you to foster a deeper understanding of your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. He values respect for each person’s unique journey and believes that lasting change comes from creating a space where you can feel safe to experience emotions, look inward, and grow at your own pace.

Vision

Luke works with you to build a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, respect, and open communication. He specializes in helping navigate issues around intimacy, sex, and gender, as well as addressing the complex challenges of addiction and trauma. Luke believes in creating a non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore your experiences without fear of shame or stigma. As a sex-positive therapist, he provides support in embracing sexual identities and desires, and he is affirming of LGBTQIA, trans, and non-monogamous relationships. Whether working with individuals or couples, Luke aims to foster understanding, healing, and growth in all aspects of relationships and personal well-being.
