What can I expect for my first session?
If it’s online, you’ll get a link to the session by email about 30 minutes before it’s set to begin. Please take a moment to test the connection.
If it’s in-person, have a seat in the waiting room, grab a drink of water, and get the bathroom code. Your psychologist will meet you at your appointment time.
Your psychologist will review the consent form with you and make sure you don’t have any outstanding questions about it.
Your psychologist will take some time to assess and build a working alliance before setting goals with you and working towards those goals.
Can I change the names on my receipt for insurance purposes?
Yes, email admin@lovingchoices.ca and we’ll get it done.
Can I change from in-person to an online session, or vice-versa?
Yes, email admin@lovingchoices.ca if it’s more than 24 hours away and if it’s sooner than that, it’s probably better to email your psychologist directly.
How does the cancellation list work?
You can add yourself to a wait list for days and times with your psychologist on the Jane app. When another client cancels during the time you are on the wait list, you and everyone else on the wait list will receive an email or text (depending on your Jane settings). Whoever books first gets the appointment time.
How do I add insurance information to my profile?
You can add insurance information on the Jane app or email us with the information at admin@lovingchoices.ca.
It's within the 24 hour cancellation period. How do I let my psychologist know I can't make it or I'm running late?
Email them directly. It’s their first name@lovingchoices.ca.
How do the free online consults work?
You can book a free 15 minute consult with Emily or Luke online through the Jane app directly. Or, you can fill out the request form and Emily or Luke will contact you to set up a time to meet.
How do I update my credit card information?
You can add credit card information on the Jane app or email us with the information at admin@lovingchoices.ca.
How do I reset my Jane password to get back into my profile?
Click “forgot password” when logging into Jane app with your email address. Or, email admin@lovingchoices.ca and we can do that for you.
How do I start supervision or consultation sessions with Dr. Jason Jones?
Email jason@lovingchoices.ca to express your interest and intentions. Currently, Jason is accepting new AASECT supervisees.
How do I make sure my partner gets a consent form if I booked the couples appointment?
You can set up other profiles in the Jane app and link them to yourself.
When you fill out a consent form, there is a place to add your partner’s information so that we can create and account for them and send them a consent form manually.
Can I do an online session with my partner if we are in separate locations?
Yes, just please let us know ahead of time if that is the case. It’s a different appointment type in the Jane system so it won’t work unless it’s set up properly.
