AASECT Certified Sex Therapist

Dr. Jason Jones is one of only two certified supervisors in Edmonton capable of helping psychologists or clinical social workers become a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counsellors, and Therapists (AASECT). A Certified Sex Therapist is a licensed mental health professional trained to provide in-depth psychotherapy in treating clients with sexual issues and concerns.

Sex Therapy Supervision

Under Dr Jones’s supervision, you will commit to a 12-18-month term where you need to complete 50 hours of supervision while you are obtaining 300 clinical hours of sex therapy. Clinical experience will include the diagnosis and treatment of psychosexual dysfunctions as the sole or primary therapist. This experience will provide a variety of psychosexual disorders and will include therapy with clients of both genders and with couples. This supervised experience must begin after enrolling in graduate school.
